Once Upon a Christmas Story is a heartwarming and humorous telling of the Nativity story. Scenes alternate between Grandma and Grandpa’s house — where a Christmas bedtime story story is unfolding for 3 special grandchildren — and scenes from the Biblical narrative of Jesus’ birth, embellished a bit in order to keep the children’s interest. For example, Joseph engages in stage combat as he fights off bandits on the way to Bethlehem! Once Upon a Christmas Story (Smaller Cast) can accommodate a cast of between 12 and 30 kids, with 10-14 speaking parts. A full soundtrack is available for separate purchase with two original songs and exciting arrangements of traditional carols. Alternatively, carols can be sung directly out of the hymnal to piano accompaniment if you want to DIY the music. A version for large cast is also available. Purchase of the script entitles user to unlimited reproduction of the script for use at one congregation.
