Description
Getting to Know Your Bible is a guided conversation for all ages that makes scripture approachable, participatory, and grounded in grace.
This two-part resource includes both the Facilitator’s Guide and Participant Guide—everything you need to host a one-hour workshop, small group series, or Bible presentation event. The document is a black and white PDF and can be printed in booklet format or full page to reduce printing costs.
Designed for intergenerational use, this curriculum can easily serve as a Bible presentation for elementary or 3rd-grade children, inviting the whole congregation to celebrate the gift of scripture together.
The included optional liturgy features a call to worship, a responsive litany for Bible recipients, hymn suggestions, and a closing blessing—simple to adapt for Sunday morning worship.
Participants learn how to:
Find their way around the Bible
Explore different translations
Recognize types of writing (story, song, wisdom, letter)
Begin reading with confidence and understanding
Leaders receive complete facilitation notes, discussion prompts, and ready-to-use scripts, plus follow-up ideas for continuing Bible engagement in worship or at home.
Rooted in Wesleyan theology and written for small or low-tech congregations, Getting to Know Your Bible helps people of all ages grow in curiosity, confidence, and love of God’s Word—together.
